Example: Send alert when human step is due

In this example, you want WorldServer to notify the project manager and the task assignees one day before a human task step is due.

To do so:
  1. In the workflow used by the project and its tasks, specify an expected duration for each human step.
  2. Create a recurrence named Daily-early-am that runs every day at 1 A.M.
  3. Create a new rule for all active tasks, selecting the following:
    • Condition: If current task step is due in a particular number of days (1 day).
    • Action: Email current task step events to project user(s) (Assignee(s) and Project Creator).
For example: For all active tasks, if current task step is due in 1 day(s), email current task step events to Assignee(s) and Project Creator. Execute this rule on schedule Daily-early-am.

When WorldServer executes the rule, it looks at the due dates and times of each step for each active task and sends out notifications when it finds steps that are due in one day. You can configure the content of the email messages that WorldServer sends out by going to Management > Administration > Notification Content.
