Importing translation kits into Explorer

If you or another member of your team worked on a task offline, in a program such as Trados Studio, you can import the work back into WorldServer as a return package. Keep in mind that you can only import tasks that are currently claimed by you.

Procedure

  1. Open WorldServer Explorer.
  2. Select Tools > Export/Import > Import Translation Kit.
  3. In the Import Offline Work dialog box, select Choose File, find and select the translation kit that you want to import, and then select Open.
The translation kit that you select has to be a valid translation kit which was originally exported from WorldServer and which has been translated offline.
  4. Optional: If you have the appropriate permissions, update the translation memory based on the contents of the translation kit by selecting the Update the translation memory using imported assets check box.
  5. Optional: If you have the appropriate permissions, perform the import in the background by selecting the Perform import in the background check box.
Tip: If you choose to run a job in the background, you can log out of WorldServer while waiting for the job to run. However, if you choose not to run the job in the background, you need to stay connected to WorldServer until the job is executed.
  6. Select Import.
If the assets that you exported are no longer locked by you, WorldServer will not import them.
Translation memories from offline translation tools are also not imported; instead, the source and target segments are aligned and inserted into the WorldServer translation memory, if you selected that option.
Tip: If a message regarding duplicate or missing placeholders is displayed, either open the asset in the browser and re-translate the faulty target segments or fix the placeholders in the offline tool and import the asset again.
