Use scoping to determine how many words there are in a particular folder or asset and how much the translation will cost, based on selected scoping configurations, target locales, TM, machine translation configuration (if uploaded and configured), and the cost model associated with the project's scoping configuration.
Before you begin
To scope folders or assets, you need to have at least one cost model
and one scoping configuration
configured.
Procedure
-
In
WorldServer, do one of the following:
- Go to
Explorer, select the folder or the asset that you want to scope, and then select
.
- On the
Home page of
the Classic interface, create a project by selecting
Upload Files and Create Project under
Useful Links, and then, after uploading the files, select
Get Scoping and Estimates.
-
In the
Scope dialog box, specify the scoping configuration, the target locales, and, for each locale, a TM and a machine translation configuration.
-
Select
Scope.
WorldServer performs the initial scoping and displays the results in a table. The table shows the number of words in each translation memory match category. If the scoping configuration has a cost model associated with it, you can select the cost model and get an estimated cost of the translation, based on the selected cost model.
-
Optional: Download the cost model as a
.csv file by selecting
Download as CSV file and save the file to your computer.
-
Select
OK.
