Uploading assets

Uploading an asset means copying it from your file system to WorldServer. This can be useful if you want to update the source assets of a project that is already in progress. To upload multiple assets at the same time, place them in a .zip archive and WorldServer will extract them automatically during the upload.

Before you begin

If you want to update existing assets, make sure that the assets you upload have the same name as the existing ones. WorldServer will then replace (overwrite) the previous versions with the latest versions.

Procedure

  1. Open WorldServer Explorer.
  2. Select the folder where you want to upload assets.
  3. Select Asset > Upload.
  4. In the Upload Files dialog box, next to Select a file, select Choose File.
Note: If you have a versioning connector configured, when you upload an asset, you can choose to not have the assets checked in. If you select the Check in file on upload check box (the default), WorldServer checks in the file upon upload. If you clear the check box, WorldServer does not check in the file.
  5. Locate the asset that you want to upload, and then select Open.
  6. Select Upload.

What to do next

To check that your asset has been uploaded successfully, right-click the folder where you uploaded it, and then select Refresh.
